Channeling

That big search engine we all know and love/hate will soon be wanting us to wear their glasses, recording as we go, so it is not too much of a stretch to imagine you could broadcast your life 24/7 via Web-enabled contact lenses.

Channeling is set in the very near future that seems so possible: a world in which young people fight for ratings and sponsors, becoming more outlandish and taking bigger risks to win the big bucks.

Jonah, a soldier, returns home on bereavement leave to discover that his brother’s death wasn’t the accident it was reported as.

He has just 72 hours to solve the mystery. Assuming his brother’s identity, Jonah enters a world of voyeurism and exhibitionism that’s as addictive as it is dangerous.

Hungry for ratings and the approval of their followers, ‘Channelers’ engage in increasingly risky and self-destructive behaviour. By re-launching his brother’s channel, will Jonah find the conspirators or will he lose himself?

This thriller raises questions about the big brands and megacompanies that run the Internet: a fast-paced, glossy postcard to Generation X, Y and Z.
