Vanishing Waves

Would you want to live inside the head of another person, exposed to the contradictions of mind and body?

Vanishing Waves explores the speculative science of neural transfer, when an inhibited young man agrees to take part in an experiment to enter the mind of an anonymous coma patient.

He discovers the sometimes mysterious world of a sensual young woman, where he is free to be himself and explore feelings and desires he did not know he had. It becomes a world he does not want to leave in case he loses the woman trapped inside the comatose body in the hospital.

At times this innovative film is like a European version of Tarsem’s THE CELL, minus the serial killer and colourful visuals, and with more nudity and angst. At its core however, is a story of love, sacrifice and a search for freedom and a real identity.

We are delighted that Lithuanian co-writer and director, Kristina Buozyte will join us for a Q&A session after the screening.
