Vessel

Ash has the power to communicate with ETs, who use him to pass messages to various agencies on Earth. However, it is a “gift” he needs to be stripped of by the end of the day to avoid permanently succumbing to its side-effects, which will turn him into one of them - incredibly calculating, but devoid of any human emotion.

He uses prescription sleeping inhalers to keep the symptoms at bay, but they are quickly losing their effect.

To counteract the inhalers he downs sachets of coffee, to give him more time. He wanders through the urban landscapes meeting old acquaintances, who think he is a drug addict, relying on memories and emotional connections to retain some vestige of humanity.

When he hears rumours of a former interfacer, like himself, who has permanently rid herself of the “gift”, he decides to seek her out before it is too late.

This is a great atmospheric piece, with excellent visuals and suitably moody soundtrack, that looks at destiny and our perceived place in the world.
