German-Swiss-Chinese company, NEUROO-X,  develops entertainment to blur the boundaries between reality and gaming. Their latest release, the myth-enshrouded RED BOOK, offers the ultimate gaming experience where gamers’ secret longings are scanned and transformed into fantastic adventures.

Marcus, Chief Development Manager, dies shortly before completion of the RED BOOK and his lover, Ryuko, finds out that during the game’s testing phase a terrible event occurred.

As she gets closer to uncovering the secret of NEUROO-X, the more she loses touch with reality, neglecting her son Walter, who logs into the game and disappears into its digital parallel world. Ryuko attempts to rescue her son, updating the narrative desired by NEUROO-X.

Schwarz and Grünthal paint a kaleidoscopic world of psychedelic imagination. They cleverly combine reality with virtual worlds, exploring new territories of dystopian science fiction. A film that hacks the holodeck!
