REWIND THIS

It is sad to think that in such a short time, a whole way of watching film has albeit disappeared. Hands up those who still own a VHS player? Hands up those who know what one is?

Rewind This! looks fondly at the VHS boom of the 80s and 90s and its impact on media, fandom, and society. Josh Johnson uses interviews and film footage (much transferred from VHS) to trace the rise of VHS and its demise at the hands of digital media and distribution, and the acolytes it left behind.

The wonderful documentary is that laments how many films will be lost forever, like some of those vinyl records, because they never made the format change.

Rewind This

Rewind This! is a clever examination of changing attitudes in our culture — and just happens to have more than a few scenes of Japanese pornography.

This film that will generate a lot of memories and discussion, not unlike the kind people used to have once upon a time at the video store on a Friday night. - see it on the big screen 'cos you can't see it on a JVC top loader!
