At the opening night of SCI-FI-LONDON 9 in front a packed crown of the great and the good China Miéville was announced as the winner of the 2010 Arthur C Clarke Award for Science Fiction Literature for his fabulous novel The City & The City.

A worthy winner, and for an unprecedented 3rd time, China accepted the award in person and in spoke with some passion about science fiction literature and it's readers, bloggers and critics and his gratitude at being given the award in the face of what most people agree was one of the most outstanding shortlists in the events history.

SCI-FI-LONDON would like to extend our heartfelt commiserations to the runners-up and our congratulations to that nice Mr. Miéville and we look forward to bringing you an interview with him very shortly.
