His novel Ubik is on TIME Magazine’s list of the 100 best English-language novels, and he is the only science fiction writer to get honored in the prestigious Library of America series, a kind of pantheon of American literature.

But if you're not familiar with any of his 44 novels or 121 short stories then you will know at least one major film based on Dick’s work. Take your pick from Blade Runner, Total Recall, A Scanner Darkly, Minority Report or several others that all owe their genesis to his writing.
