Vote for Gareth

Monsters - Gareth Edwards
As you know, we have been heavily promoting MONSTERS by Gareth Edwards, winner of our first 48 Hour Film Challenge. Immediately after its world premiere at SXSW there was a bidding war for US distribution, and the same sales excitement happened in Cannes in May. There is no doubt that Gareth is an extremely talented filmmaker, and we feel proud to have been part of helping this talent being recognised. It was because of his winning short that MONSTERS got the greenlight. MONSTERS is having its UK premiere at Edinburgh International Film Festival tomorrow (we have a pair of tickets for the Saturday screening to giveaway).

Gareth has now been nominated in this year’s Hospital 100 under the category FILM EMERGING and its Producers James Richardson and Alan Niblo under FILM ESTABLISHED. Not only did they produce the critically aclaimed MONSTERS but also the No1 UK Box Office smash Street Dance 3D, which took more money in the UK than PRINCE OF PERSIA and ROBIN HOOD, showing their versatility across a range of productions. There are also lots of other categories in the arts, fashion and digital media (if you don't know much about the other categories and want to abstain you can just vote for film category, and submit straight away). Help support further recognition for this fine young filmmaker, which is also a vote for British-produced sci-fi, something we at SFL are always trying to encourage.
