Bladerunner 2049

One of the most talked about and commented on sci-fi films in past years has been BLADE RUNNER.  Whether you take the 'it is not like the book' or 'what an amazing view of the future' paths, the film set a benchmark for science fiction cinema.

now comes a new film - BLADERUNNER 2049,

Set, thirty years after the events of the first film, the brief logline tells us: "A new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years."

Personally, I am little tired of aged actors in remakes, reimaginning and redux - if you are going to do it differently, do it differently, dont drag back someone who was in the original for the sake of it.    The only recent use of actors for the original piece that blew me away was Peter Cushing in Rogue One - it was simply inspired and very well executed.    The thought of Harrison Ford appearing in this new Blade Runner film makes me sigh... of course, I am prepared to be blown away, Villeneuve's ARRIVAL was a really refreshing film.

So, fingers crossed and here is the taster released online.
