48hr film and 1984, free!

We are always knocked out by the quality of films in our 48hr film challenge.   We know they are amazing, but it is the cherry on the top when we see them in other festivals...

So, the winner of the 8th SCI-FI-LONDON 48hr Film Challenge by Team Rainmakers is "No Guarantee" and will be screening with 1984 at the Peckham and Nunhead Free Film Festival on Tues 5th September.  This screening is a tribute to the late John Hurt, who plays George Orwell’s timeless character, Winston Smith, in his tale of a future fascist dystopia.

Like we said, it's free and you can find full details here http://www.freefilmfestivals.org/event/nineteen-eighty-four-sci-fi-short/

ABOUT NO GUARANTEE.
The 5-minute film depicts a doomed love story set in a dystopian future and explores the possibility of uploading consciousness into the cloud to escape the dying world. It stars Justin Marosa and Alice Henley as the couple.

For those of you who don't know, over the last nine years, the Challenge has had over 1300 films completed, many of which have gone to other film festivals, and been broadcast on TV.  The Challenge has seen two feature films completed and we claim to have discovered Gareth Edwards (ROGUE ONE), well why wouldn't we - first film he ever made was for the challenge!
