Now, football fans think nothing of sporting the kit of their favourite team, complete with the name and number of their favourite player, even if they don't have the stamina to run a bath, and yet they are happy to ridicule sci-fi fans for dressing up as their favourite characters. Let's face it, a sci-fi fan has more chance of being an Imperial Stormtrooper that most football fans have of playing major league football.

FANBOYS salutes the geeks who are proud to don their uniforms and costumes of choice and wear them in public. And we salute them too at an exclusive showing of the film at the Apollo Piccadilly Cinema on the 28t September.

The UK 501st Garrison will be in attendance to keep everyone in order, along with other Star Wars costumers (slave Leia always proves popular for some reason). There may even be some Star Trek costumes too. All fan boys and girls are welcome, so put on your favourite costume and you could win tickets to the after-party. And there are going to be some surprise guests too.

We also have Tim O'Sullivan coming to take photos of those in costume and he has offered a free large print to all those who pose for him!
