WINNER - 2012 SFL POSTER COMPETITION

We are proud to be working with AllCity Media on a competition to find the main image for the 11th SCI-FI-LONDON Film Festival.

Over the past few months we had an open invitation to submit an idea for the 2012 Festival poster.

The theme was to be based loosely around 'Future Games', referencing the London Olympic year. Whether a calamitous dystopia, a modern utopian London or an other-wordly sporting event, we wanted your idea of a what the Future Games could be and an image we could use for the programme, poster and an animated trailer!

The jury consisted of:

  • David Frost - Allcity, London's leading creative agency
  • Julian Ishmael - Mondo, Austin's amazing poster designer
  • Duncan Jones - Director of Moon and Source Code
  • Gavin Lewis - Creative Review, the world authority!
  • Louis Savy - SCI-FI-LONDON founder and festival director

Well, after seeing some fantastic entries and much deliberation, we have a winner. Chris Walker from Devon, an illustrator and painter who painted an A2 piece in Gouache.

SCI-FI-LONDON 11 Poster - Winner

This image was in the running from the moment we saw it. It is bright, hopeful, has a good London feel, is contemporary, yet I love the retro feel is has"

We also wanted to give a special mention to the images below, they all were battling it out for the win, each having something we really liked and of course, we were blown away by the work and ideas that went into them.

Thank you to everyone who entered and see you at the festival!
