Dead Island preview

If you’re thinking of booking a fabulous autumnal holiday, somewhere with sandy golden beaches, tranquil clear waters, palm trees bending in tropical breezes and technicolour coral reefs, we certainly wouldn’t recommend the resort of Banoi…

Hidden in the South Pacific, the exclusive luxury of the beautiful Royal Palms hotel is totally destroyed following a mysterious zombie outbreak. Inspired by classic zombie movies, this is survival horror that promises to be thrilling, scary and utterly intense. You can play on your own or team up for 4-player co-op where tactics choosing the right makeshift melee weapon (this is paradise – guns and ammo are scarce) against the hoards of holiday zombies is the key to survival. You’ll find us rummaging in other’s people’s discarded luggage as we hunt down items to defend ourselves!

Atmospheric, chilling and beautifully cinematic, if the trailer is anything to go off, we’re in for some movie melee mayhem when the game is released next week.

Paradise doesn’t quite seem all it’s cracked to up be after all…

You can also read about the events leading up to the terrifying zombie onslaught in a six-page comic written by William Dailey along with artists Jorge Lucas, Juan Santacruz, Diego Olmos, Carlos Rodriguez and Sergio Arino. Previously only available at the recent San Diego Comicon as a limited edition comic, Marvel.com have released the comic digitally online. Featuring investigative journalist Roger Howard’s time at the sumptuous island resort, his digging into the illegal exploitation of the island’s resources uncovers a terrible surprise…

Dead Island will be released for Playstation3, Xbox360 and Windows PC on 9th September.
