A Vision in 3D - BFI and Nintendo competition

The BFI and Nintendo are working with Oscar winning, sci-fi director Ridley Scott to find Britain’s best new filmmaking talent.

With the chance to win an opportunity to work with Stuart Warren-Hill and Asif Kapadia, filmmakers are invited to submit 3D films on the theme of “British Summer” that MUST be created using the Nintendo 3DS or 3DS XL and be no longer than 60 seconds. The winners will also get a professional crew to help develop their final film which will be premiered during the 56th BFI London Film Festival at a special red carpet gala event in October. Runners up will get tickets to the festival.

Talking about the competition, Ridley Scott says: "Digital and 3D filmmaking is within the grasp of everyone these days. I'm excited by all the skill and talent that's emerging in the UK, telling stories in different ways and it's vital that it gets our support. This competition launched by the BFI and Nintendo opens up a big opportunity for emerging filmmakers to make their mark and they should grab it with both hands. I can't wait to see the results."

Filmmakers must be over the age of 16 and should upload their films to the competition website by midnight on Sunday 2nd September.
