Attack of the Wall Street Titan

In an increasingly crowded app store, getting your game noticed can be tricky but the team at Dark Tonic have come up with a unique approach that tackles the prickly subject of in game adverts to attract players to their sci-fi inspired title.

Realising that the Occupy Wall Street a.k.a. OWS protesters were in for the long haul, evil CEO (the delightfully named Filcher Crapsworth) at Bane Capital decides to build a gigantic, ultra-destructive, OWS-squishing robot. Better at banking than at designing futuristic military tech, they forgot to install a firewall! Hacked by OWS, the robot has turned rogue and players can take control, tapping their mobile devices to create utter carnage and obliterate the bankers – this is Attack of the Wall Street Titan!

With bold visuals and simple controls, the aim is to destroy as many evil bankers as possible, liberating them of their loot and protecting the innocent masses. Though a little of the American humour might fall under English radars, the addictive arcade style action and sheer amount of fun destruction via the robotic Robin Hood makes this free iOS title worth checking out.

Uniquely, Dark Tonic announced this week that the bankers aren’t the only feature in the game that can be destroyed. Players who earn a 3 star rating on each level will be rewarded with the full, retail version of the game with no more ads! Creative Director of Dark Tonic, Eric Boosman says, “This is an ideal way to deliver quality game experiences in a way that can support developers through in-game ads, while letting the players that enjoy the game the most earn a fully free copy. It's so win-win!”

It’s a super idea and one that is bound to attract new and loyal players. Casual players get a great free game with ad support which will financially help the developers which will enable them to keep making games whilst regular players that develop a moderate skill level will be rewarded with an advert free version. Boosman adds, “Gamers and game developers want the same thing. Incredibly fun, high quality games, whether they're $60 AAA games or completely free. The current free to play game market keeps pushing games in one direction - down. Down to the crappiest quality shovelware filled with as much advertisement as players will tolerate, in order to generate high ROI. That sucks. That sucks so hard.”

Attack of the Wall Street Titan is available now from the Apple App Store and will be coming soon to Android.
