SCI-FI-LONDON 20th Anniversary MANGA All-nighter – Poster challenge!

Manga - Celebrating 20 Years of Anime
To celebrate the 10th Annual SCI-FI-LONDON Film Festival and the 20th Anniversary of Manga Entertainment, we are teaming up to bring you an outstanding line-up of anime in hi-def and on the big screen!

On Sat 30th April from 11.30pm until early Sunday morning, we screen 5 amazing films including the classic AKIRA, digitally enhanced for HD and featuring a brand new “hypersonic” soundtrack!

The other films are 2001 NIGHTS: FUMIHIKO SORI’S TO, EDEN OF THE EAST – AIR COMMUNCATION, EDEN OF THE EAST – KING OF EDEN and REDLINE.

But we want your input too.

We want you to create an original manga-style poster for this event and have £500 of Manga and Sci-fi goodies up for grabs.

Not only that, the winning poster will be printed and on display at the Apollo on the night and you get a pair of tickets to be our guest!

To take part, follow the steps below:

STEP 1. Design a poster based on the 20th Anniversary MANGA ALL-NIGHTER at SCI-FI-LONDON.

Your interpretation of the theme can be rendered using graphic design, illustration, photography, type, mixed media or any medium you can think of which we can print.

The winning poster will be printed as a Quad size film poster (30 inches by 40 inches / 762x1020mm), landscape format at 300dpi.

Please don't submit any designs that we can't print at this size.

Also, please don't include the SCI-FI-LONDON and MANGA logos on the work you submit. We can add them nice and small if we need to.

STEP 2. For the purposes of voting and previewing on this website, poster entries uploaded should be:

• File Format: JPG or PNG
• Resolution: 72dpi
• Max Filesize: 2mb

Your poster entry will be auto-resized proportionately by us to fit our website. If your poster is chosen as the winner, you will be contacted again to send over a high-res version of it.

RULES: Really simple. Design a poster, email (mangaposter@sci-fi-london.com)a low-res copy for us to judge, have a high-res version ready in case you win, the judges decision is final, there is no cash prize, we get to do what we like with the poster you submit, forever. Simple.

We must receive the artwork by 20 APRIL 2011.

We want your poster to be original - by this we mean we do not want to see existing anime and manga characters being used in the designs as this will constitute copyright infringement in the eyes of the Japanese Licensors and we will not be able to award a prize, no matter how good to an entry that does this.

By all means design your own wonderful and new creations, but please don’t adapt your own Naruto or Bleach designs for example.

Go for it and get your designs to us by 20th APRIL at the latest!
