This Christmas promises to be a huge gadget-fest with more game consoles, toys, TVs and mobile devices to choose from than ever before. Helping to relieve Santa of his heavy work-load, The Gadget Show Live @ Christmas will be once again showcasing the very latest and greatest gadgets and gizmos to help make all your tech-shopping easy.
This year the show is moving to Earl's Court 1st – 3rd November, and as well as having the usual plethora of exciting stalls to discover, this year there will be a new Toy Arena where visitors can race, shoot, drive, build and meet the robotic interactive puppy Teksta by Character Options (remember, a dog is for life, not just for Christmas...), or play with Jumbo's iPad-compatible gaming iPieces and appCards which are ideal for some after turkey dinner, family card gaming on smartphones and tablets.
Elsewhere on the show floor will be the Game Zone for everyone's console, PC, and mobile gaming needs. Research by The Gadget Show Live showed that last year, 93% of visitors were avid gamers and this autumn, with the imminent release of both the Xbox One, the Playstation 4 and more new titles than you can shake a stick at, the Game Zone is bound to be one of the busiest and most popular areas. As well as gaming mouses, headsets, speakers and accessories to get hands on with, exhibitors already confirmed include GameStick, the portable TV games console that enables users to launch their favourite Android games in full HD, and Microsoft who will no doubt not only be chatting about the new Xbox One, but will be showcasing all the latest gaming apps for Windows 8 on the Surface 2 tablet.
No Gadget Show Live would be complete without its presenters, and the 2,700 seat Super Theatre will be packed out as the team present the '12 Tech Days of Christmas' theme, aiming to bring the Channel 5 show to life with presenter challenges, crowd participation, high octane stunts, special guests and of plenty of tech to win. Of course the main reason to visit The Gadget Show Live @ Christmas is for the shopping.
At the top of our xmas list, as always, is new tech to make watching sci-fi movies even better. This year, we'll start by hunting down the Philips Screeneo projector which, when placed a short distance from a wall, is able to project any multimedia, web, or even television channel content with an image size up to 100’’ (254 cm).For those in the market for a TV upgrade, the Finlux 65'' Smart LED TV has full HD 1080p, Freeview catch-up TV and on-demand services, and a USB Wi-Fi dongle that'll allow you to connect the set to your home network wirelessly. Big TVs come with big price tags so make sure your wallet is big enough to pack in 129999 pennies to cover the cost.Alternatively, there are plenty options on display at the show for enhancing your current TV set up including the Orbitsound M12 Soundbar which improves TV sound dramatically with a wireless subwoofer and built in Bluetooth, allowing music to be streamed from any Bluetooth enabled device. At the end of the day, there's no need to worry about little eyes or loved ones spotting your purchases early, as this year the show will also be offering a shop & drop area and a gift wrapping section. That's a Christmas wrap!
