CANNIBAL GIRLS didn’t make it on to the infamous list of video nasties made popular by Mary Whitehouse and Margaret Thatcher, but it does have a lot of bad acting and pretty woman who like to eat human flesh. This Canadian B-grade, zero-budget comedy horror by Ivan Reitman (who went on to direct some of our favourite films including GHOSTBUSTERS) stars a very young, dorky Eugene Levy (A MIGHTLY WIND) in his first lead role.

Although the film is neither a great horror nor a great comedy it does have enough quirks to explain its cult status among horror fans and if you’ve worked your way through the films on the DPP ‘video nasties’ list then this would make an excellent chaser.
The remastered and restored collector's edition of CANNIBAL GIRLS is out on DVD on Monday 14th February 2011 and is available from www.play.com.
